Welcome to
Rose Edin Online!

Rose Edin's paintings capture the romance and beauty of scenes we see every day. Each image is fresh, new and original. She has a unique talent of bringing excitement to each and every moment, not only to those moments that come once in a lifetime! Edin's compositions are brimming with variety and splashes of color. Each brushstroke carries a hue that is muted but exact and carefully applied to enhance the overall image. Her light touch capture a softness that few  can match.

Rose has a number of books published by Walter Foster Publishing of California; Scenes in Watercolor, Painting Around The World and Watercolor, a large comprehensive watercolor book co-authored with six other artists.

Rose holds signature membership in the National Watercolor Society and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. Rose was last year awarded "Master" status with the NTWS having been selected for the annual national show for 10 years.

In 2004, Rose was awarded first place in the professional category in an international art competition sponsored by Art Instruction Schools. Another 2004 recognition was the Virginia Weigand Award at the Rocky Mountain National Watercolor Society annual show in Golden, Colorado.

"Secret Garden"

This painting is of two South African children walking in a park on the outskirts of Nelspruit, South Africa.

"Rosatea and Company"

Every Italian Tuscan hill town has a unique character all its own. This shop on a narrow street in Gubbio immediately drew Rose's attention. A group of puppets are artistically arranged in the front window.

"King of The Hill"

Rose and her class were painting in the little village of Santa Lucia, just outside of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. This aggressive rooster wanted everyone to understand that they were intruding on his territory!

"African Artists"

In South Africa on the road from Graskop to Pilgrim's rest, just west of Kruger National park, is a handicraft park located along side the highway. Rose painted this scene of the native artists at work.

"Masquerade"

In Venice, Italy, there is the annual Carnavale, starting on Ash Wednesday. Mask making for this festival is a time honored art form in this city on the Adriatic. This painting was inspired by a display in a Venetian store window selling masks for Carnavale.

"Retired"

These three fellows were sitting on a bench in Vernazza, Italy, whiling away the morning hours with the latest news around the town, while the dog waits patiently to resume her walk.

"Gondola Factory"

In southwest Venice is found one of the few remaining gondola factories in the old city. Gondolas are still being built by hand here just as they have been for centuries.

"Burano"

In the northern part of the lagoon around Venice, Italy lies the little island of Burano. Known for its lace making, it is an artists and photographer's paradise.
